Cambridgeshire Police Force has been re-organised to meet the changing needs of the public in our rapidly expanding county.
The increased complexity and demands of modern policing had meant that the old ways of working were hampering the ability of the police to provde the public with the service required.
The new way of working is based on the outcomes from an eighteen month Local Policing Review and will be victim-focused and demand-led. As part of the new model the force will gain 105 extra police officers. This will provide more frontline officers and be better placed to manage demand. The aim will be to ensure that the right people are in the right place and at the right time. They know they can't be everywhere, so they will prioritise those who are most vulnerable or in urgent need of police support. They will target and bring to justice, the most dangerous offenders.
The police will focus on the public and providing them with the best possible service. As a result of these changes, the police are confident that the public will benefit.
