Clean up after your Dog

There are about ten million dogs in the UK, producing around one million tonnes of faeces each year, so it's no wonder dog-fouling is the most offensive type of litter on our streets and is constantly rated by the public as one of the most important issues affecting their local area.

There is an increasing trend  to introduce more areas where dogs are banned. This is gaining increasing support amongst the public, fuelled by the very small minority of irresponsible owners who do not clean up after their dog.

Please remember to clean up after your dog.

Animal Theft

Those of you who keep animals need to be aware that there has been an increase in theft for some time.

Green Dog Walkers During Covid-19

All the events we had planned for this year are on hold while the Covid-19 restrictions are in place. In the meantime we hope you continue to enjoy walking your dog. Among the many benefits is that you will receive a good dose of daily sunshine (weather permitting). There is no doubt that sunshine boosts your body's levels of Vitimin D. There is a growing body of research that indicates that good levels of vitimin D will help reduce your chance of catching Covid-19 and if you do it seems it will reduce the worst effects.

We hope to continue with the next phase of our efforts to encourage cleaning up after all dogs as soon as we are able. In the meantime thank you for taking the pledge and helping to make our environment better for everyone.

We would encourage you to be vigilant and cautious of suspicious people or markings seen around addresses, as well as cold callers and if you are approached by strangers while out on a dog walk.
